Aboubacar Djamil Sané, founding member of the Pastef/Les patriotes, is the mayor of the commune of Parcelles Assainies (Dakar). Originally from the Zinguinchor region, southern Senegal, he is married and father of three children.
Reason for arrest
Date: 8th August 2023
Arrested by the DIC, Djamil Sané is facing two charges: calling for insurrection and acts or maneuvers likely to compromise public security. He will be presented to the public prosecutor this Wednesday, unless there is a change of program according to our sources, because he is suspected of being the leader of subversive acts in his commune.
